Jason C. Duff. Hello and welcome to my Bio Page! I am the Lead Systems Engineer at 954Network, Inc. A South Florida based I.T. Consulting Firm. My interest in technology started in High School where I was constantly fixing small issues with the schools and teachers computers. I seemed to have an ability to understand and fix computers with little knowledge of how they worked at the time. This peaked my interest further and I began reading books related to computers which lead to networking books and so on. At this age (Like most adolescents) I did not have much money and at the time, computers were very expensive so I decided to find another means of getting more hands on experience with technology that I had not yet explored. I started volunteering in a local hospital's Information Systems Department. This got me unlimited access to hundreds of computers and a large, multi-location network not to mention a mini data center in the basement. I had found my calling.
After volunteering in the hospital for about a year, I decided to try my hand in the job market as a computer technician. I first went out and received my A+ and MCP certifications, created a resume and began applying at local companies. Eventually I got hired at a local consulting firm where I excelled very quickly to Senior Level Network Technician. While this job got my foot in the door as an I.T. Professional, I really did not enjoy it. I had always pictured myself as a business owner and after working there for about 3.5 years I began exploring the idea of starting my own consulting firm. I decided on the name 954Network as it is the local area code and the name seemed to have a ring to it. For the past 1.5 years, I have been running 954Network and have thoroughly enjoyed my work and being a business owner despite the effort and dedication that it requires.
